- Hours: 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM
- Schedule: 5x8s (40 hours/week)
Required Experience
- Recent Histology Laboratory experience required
- High-volume Histology Lab experience preferred
- Experience maintaining specimen and case integrity
- Experience troubleshooting difficult tissue blocks
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently while following laboratory protocols
Required Certifications
- ASCP Certified Histotechnician (HT) OR
- ASCP Certified Histotechnologist (HTL)
- Illinois License or proof of application process initiated

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and process tissue specimens for microscopic examination
- Perform microtomy, embedding, sectioning, and re-cuts
- Conduct special stains, immunohistochemistry (IHC), and immunofluorescence procedures
- Assist with frozen section preparation and surgical pathology workflows
- Maintain specimen identification accuracy and case integrity
- Troubleshoot difficult tissue blocks and technical issues
- Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment
- Follow CLIA, CAP, and laboratory quality assurance standards
- Document laboratory procedures and results in Epic Beaker
- Work collaboratively with pathologists, laboratory staff, and healthcare teams
